Hibulb Lookout

With time between appointments I happened upon Hibulb Lookout in Everett. This is a spot that overlooks the mouth of the Snohomish River.

With just 2.25 acres, the layout is simple. Vehicles park facing northwest with a clear view of the water below. Land forms and water channels appear in every direction. In the distance is Camano Island. To the right is a lumber mill on the mainland. Somewhere on the left is Hat Island. Seabirds and two bald eagles dodge about above two tall conifers.

People come here to park and look. Few exit their vehicles and for good reason. All can be seen from the front seat of the car. To exit the car is to become a part of the view. On Friday, January 22, 2021 there were plenty of empty spaces. I took a spot next to an ambulance with a crewmember gazing through binoculars. Friends in adjacent cars pointed to the sky at two bald eagles passing by.
