Up the Sammamish River without a paddle

That's right. Up the Sammamish without a paddle. Who needs a paddle anyway when you're walking on foot? Many of us have a favorite walk or place to jog. This little two mile jaunt has become my favorite. Good cardio and pleasant surroundings. It runs from downtown Bothell to the edge of a city called Woodinville. In my opinion it looks better in bad weather. I don't know why that is, but I like the gray skies, dampness, and the changing colors of the trees seem brighter.

I took Michele and the kids for their first time yesterday. Here are the shots. This is just a fraction of the trail system that you can take to Seattle some 20 miles away, or to Lake Sammamish about 11 miles away. You can also kayak all 14 miles of the Sammamish River. In that case, I'd bring a paddle.
